Last Friday, the Insurtech Channel attended the Hartford InsurTech Hub Demo Day event in Hartford, CT, hosted by Startupbootcamp’s Hartford Insurtech Hub. Ten insurtechs from Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, Israel, Canada, and the US were chosen from over 1,000 applicants to present their unique approach is innovating the insurance industry.
Among the insurtechs presenting were South Africa’s Pineapple, a transparent and affinity-based P2P insurance, Australia’s handdii, a digital platform automating the property insurance claim process, and Israel’s SkyWatch, a licensed insurance broker offering a holistic software solution for on-demand risk-aware solutions for connected, moving platforms. We were particularly impressed with the presentation by ClaimSpace COO Aurora Voss, whose presentation on the company’s approach to the claims process was entertaining, relatable, and incredibly clear.
We had the opportunity to speak to a number of participants and to get some of their key takeaways from the event. Check out what participants, startup mentors, and members of handdii, Dream Payments, SkyWatch, Hartford Insurtech Hub, and more had to say!
We had a wonderful time attending the event in Hartford and look forward to seeing how these developing insurtechs impact international markets and the broader insurance market going forwards. Congratulations to all of them and to Hartford Insurtech Hub for such a successful Demo Day!
